Sometimes people say they drink large amounts of water and yet much of that water may not be getting into the CELLS of the body where it needed for real hydration. Salt helps deliver water into the bodies cells due to a number of chemical processes.
I was prescribed the following, specific technique from a top Chiropractor and body worker in Los Angeles a number of years ago and have found it profoundly helpful for feeling like my body is really utilising the water I drink in the most efficient way.
Lack of proper hydration can create so many symptoms in the body that we may not recognise as leading back to this as the cause. Lethargy, foggy-brain, headaches and even back pain can be traced to dehydration in many cases.
The technique to use with the salt is as follows:
** Firstly, it MUST be LIGHT GRAY CELTIC SALT. (I buy mine from "The Source Bulk Foods" see link below.)
** 2-3 times per day, take a large pinch in between your fingers and place it right in the middle of your tongue (have a glass of water ready!)
** Take a nice big mouth full of water and swallow the salty mixture down.
NOTE: DO NOT ADD salt to your water. This technique is different. I have a container at home and one at work and I take a pinch with a gulp of water when I feel like I need to re-hydrate.
